CBIC extends the last date of export by six months due to COVID-19 pandemic

The Central Board of Indirect Tax and Customs (CBIC) on May 21, 2020, amend Notifications No. 56/2000-Customs dated May 05, 2000, which is regarding exemption to gold and silver imported under specified schemes, No. 57/2000-Customs dated May 08, 2000, which is regarding exemption to gold, silver and platinum imported under specified schemes and No. 40/2015-Customs dated July 21, 2015, regarding exemption for customs duty on cut and polished diamonds imported by specified agencies in Foreign Trade Policy providing for extension of last date of export by six months, for those cases where the last date of export falls between February 01, 2020 and July 31, 2020 due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
