Maha RERA extends the timeline for several statutory compliances under RERA

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Maha RERA) on May 18, 2020 has issued an advisory regarding extension of registration of real estate projects and concurrently extending timelines of all statutory compliances due to 'Force Majeure' under the provisions of Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016.

RERA has been advised to extend the registration of projects by 6 months registered under Real Estate Regulatory Act due to outbreak of COVID-19. The Regulatory Authorities may, on their own discretion, further extend the date of completion for another period up to 3 months as per registration, depending on the situation in their respective State. Maha RERA issued directions to be followed in a force majeure period of six months, from March 15 to September 14, 2020.
