Government of Gujarat issues guidelines for lockdown 4.0

The State Government of Gujarat on May 18, 2020, announces guidelines for Lockdown 4.0 based on containment and non-containment zones.

 For Containment Zones:

Only essential items and services will be permitted and shops supplying these items and services will be operational from 8 am to 3 pm.

 For non-containment zones: 

a) Rickshaw services. S.T buses to resume in Gujarat except for the city of Ahmedabad. Vehicles with goods are permitted to travel across the state.

b) Shops will be open from 8 am to 4 pm. Market area, shopping complexes to resume based on add-even formula of their shop numbers. Only 5 persons will be allowed in shop at a time.

c) Economic activities to resume in western part of Ahmedabad. No relaxations for eastern Ahmedabad.

d) Only 50 people to be allowed for marriage ceremonies and 20 people for cremation.

e) Hair salon, beauty parlors, barber shops to resume in accordance with safety protocols.

f) Restaurants to provide home deliveries only and dhabas may resume outside city limits.

g) Private offices with 33% staff to resume except for East Ahmedabad. Repair shops, service stations, garages etc will resume. Textile markets will resume in Surat with odd-even formula.

h) Diamond units, weaving units and power looms to resume with 50% staff and adequate safety measures.

i) People found spitting and without mask in public will be fined Rs. 200. 

 General Guidelines;

a) Schools, colleges, malls, theatres, temples, gardens etc will remain closed

b) Vegetables vendors and essential services associates are permitted. Hotels will remin closed

c) Curfew to be implemented from 7 pm to 7 am.

The guidelines will be effective from May 19, 2020 to May 31, 2020.
