MoHFW issues guideline on preventive measures to contain spread of COVID-19 in workplace

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW) on May 18, 2020 has issued guidelines on preventive measures to contain spread of COVID-19 in workplace settings.

These following measures need to be observed by all employees and visitors:-

 Physical distancing, mandatory masks, frequent hand washing, Self-monitoring of health.

 Any staff reportedly suffering from flu-like illness should not attend office and seek medical advice from local health authorities.

 The occurrence of any COVID-19 cases among the employees working in the office cannot be ruled out.

 When there are large numbers of contacts from a pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic case, there could be a possibility of a cluster emerging in workplace setting. The scale of arrangements will be higher.

 If there are one or two cases reported, the disinfection procedure will be limited to places or areas visited by the patient in past 48 hrs. There is no need to close the entire office building or halt work in other areas of the office and work can be resumed after disinfection.

 In case of larger outbreak, the entire building will have to be closed for 48 hours, the staff will work from home till the building is adequately disinfected.
