Fazilka District extends the lockdown with new guidelines for COVID-19

The Fazilka District on May 17, 2020, extends the lockdown for a further period of two weeks from May 18, 2020 to May 31, 2020 in the light of new guidelines.

The new Guidelines are as under:

 The movements of individuals for all the non-essential activities will remain prohibited between 7.00 PM to 7.00 AM.

 Prohibited Activities:

a) Shopping malls, schools, colleges and other educational institutions and coaching institutes

b) Hotels, restaurants and other hospitality services

c) Cinema halls, malls, shopping complexes, gymnasiums, swimming pools and similar places

d) All gatherings are prohibited and religious places will remain close.

e) Wearing masks by all persons in public places will be mandatory and all other instructions should be strictly observed and enforced.

 Permitted Activities:

a) All shops of urban and rural areas will be open between 7.00 AM to 6.00 PM. Barber shops will also be allowed subject to compliance as may be issued by State Health Department.

b) Sports complexes and stadia are allowed

c) All categories of industries and construction activities are allowed to operate in rural and urban areas. Industries required no separate permission to resume their operations.

d) No pass would be required for permitted activities like shopping, going to office and work place.

e) Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Services allowed without any restriction.

f) E-commerce and Government and Private offices are allowed.

g) Inter-State and Intra-State movement of passenger vehicles are allowed.

Any violation of these guidelines and lockdown measures shall be punishable under Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under Indian Penal Code.
