Amritsar District revises directions relating to Covid-19

The Amritsar District on May 17, 2020, has issued set of directions to be complied keeping in view the emerging situation of COVID-19.

The revised Guidelines are as follows:

 Schools, colleges and all educational institution would remain close and only online mode will be permitted.

 Restaurants, hotels, religious places and all hospitality services will remain close except those which are being used as quarantine centre by the State Government.

 All social, political and other gatherings of similar nature is prohibited.

 Movement of individual would be allowed between 7 AM to 7 PM only.

 For cremation and marriage ceremony not more than 20 and 50 people should gather respectively.

 Movement of Goods, cargo and medical staff is permitted 24*7.

 Movement of private vehicles is permitted subject to certain restrictions.

 Social distancing norms must be followed.

 Services by self-employed persons such as electrician, plumber etc would be allowed.

 Essential items shops, Automobile repair shops etc is permitted. Sports complexes would open without any spectator.

 Agriculture, industries and construction activities will be allowed without any restrictions

 E-commerce would be permitted for all goods.

 Liquor vends will operate as per the directions of Excise and Taxation Department.

 Banks will operate for Public dealing from between 9 AM to 1 PM.

However, this order will not apply to containment zone. Any person violating these measures will be prosecuted under Epidemic Diseases Act 1897(The Punjab Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 regulation 2020) besides other legal provisions.
