Goa Public Health Department specifies the penalty for not wearing face cover in public places

The Goa Public Health Department on April 24, 2020, directs that all persons shall wear face cover compulsorily in all public places, workplaces including on streets, hospitals, working sites etc.

Any person violating above instructions will be liable for penalty of Rs, 100/-. In case of non-payment, the person will be liable for action under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, which specifies the penalty for disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.

This order will come into force with immediate effect.
