Ministry of Home Affairs issues new guidelines regarding COVID-19

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on May 01, 2020 has issued new guidelines on the measure to be taken for the containment of COVID-19 in the country for the extended period of further two weeks with effect from May, 04, 2020. These new guidelines regulate different activities in this period based on risk profiling of the districts of the country into Red (hotspot), Green and Orange zones. MHA will issue a list of Red (hotspot), Green and Orange zones and related information with States on weekly basis.

MHA permits all industrial and construction activities in rural areas, including MNREGA works, food-processing units and brick-kilns in red zone. Moreover, the guidelines have permitted considerable relaxations to the Orange and Green zones.

The activities passenger train, flights, buses, metro, schools, colleges, malls will remain prohibited irrespective of zone for the extended period of further two weeks with effect from May, 04, 2020.
