Ministry of Home Affairs amends the consolidated Guidelines regarding COVID-19

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on April 16, 2020, amends the consolidated Guidelines regarding COVID-19 issued on April 15, 2020.

The following amendments are as under:

• Under Clause 6 ‘A’ which specifies that all agricultural activities to remain fully functional, sub-clause (viii) has been inserted, namely:

Collection, harvesting and processing of Minor Forest Produce (MEP) / Non Timber Forest Produce (NTEP) by Scheduled Tribes and Other forest dwellers in forest areas.

• Under Clause 6 ‘C’ which specifies that various plantation activities will be functional, sub-clause (iii) has been inserted, namely:

Bamboo, Coconut, Arecanut, Cocoa, spices plantation and their harvesting, processing, packaging, sale and marketing

• Under Clause 7 which specifies that various financial sector activities will remain functional, sub-clauses (v) and (vi) has been inserted, namely:

a) Sub-clause v: Non-Banking financial institutions (NBFCs) including Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) and Micro Finance Institutions (NBFC-MFIs) with bare minimum staff.

b) Sub-clause vi: Cooperative Credit Societies.

• Under clause 16 which specifies list of construction activities that will be operative, sub-clause (i) construction activities in rural areas, includes water supply and sanitation; laying / erection of power transmission lines and laying of telecom optical fiber and cable along with related activities.
