CPCB facilitates the operation of CBWTFs as an essential service under health Infrastructure

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on March 25, 2020, issues an advisory on facilitating operation of Common Biomedical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facilities (CBWTFs) as an essential service under health Infrastructure during the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. It is advised that the services of CBWTFs and staff associated with CBWTFs for collection, transportation, treatment and disposal of biomedical waste generated from hospitals including COVID-19 isolation wards, quarantine camps etc. shall be considered as an essential service as a part of health Infrastructure.
