Assam PCB directs factories to display a board outside containing information related to effluent discharge from the factory

The Assam Pollution Control Board (PCB) on January 30, 2020, has directed all categories of industries located in the State of Assam which requires consent from the Board under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974; Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Authorization under the Hazardous and Other Waste Management and Trans-boundary Movement Rules, 2016, to erect a display board outside the factory gate containing information related to effluent discharge, air emissions and waste generated in their factory premises.

This Notification is mandatory amongst others for obtaining consent and authorization from the Board. In case of any violence, action will be taken under the purview of existing law.
