DGFT issues Scheme Guidelines for remission of duties and taxes on exported products (RoDTEP)

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on August 17, 2021 has issued Scheme Guidelines for remission of duties and taxes on exported products (RoDTEP). 

The Scheme Guidelines for remission of duties and taxes on exported products (RoDTEP) are as follows: -

• Scheme Objective and Operating Principles 

• The scheme objective is to refund, currently un-refunded: -

Duties, taxes, levies at the central, state and local level, brone on the exported product on goods and services used in the production of the exported product and Such indirect duties, taxes, levies in respect of distribution of exported product. 

• The scheme shall not be available in respect of duties and taxes already exempted or remitted or credited. 

• The determination of ceiling rates under the scheme will be done by committee. 

• The overall budget for the RoDTEP scheme would be finalized by the Ministry of finance. 

• The scheme will operate in a budgetary framework for each financial year and necessary calibrations and revisions shall be made to scheme benefits. 

• The scheme will be effect from January 1, 2021. 

• Ineligible Suppliers/Items/Categories under the scheme. 

• For the purpose of audit and verification, the exporter would be required to keep records substantiating claims made under the scheme.
