The Ministry of Communications on April 1, 2021has issued the Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, 2021 to further amend the Indian Telegraph Rules, 1951. 

In Rule 525 (2) (iii) (c) which specifies “For providing mobile services in identified uncovered areas of Karbi-Anglong and Dima Hasao districts of the State of Assam and in the State of Arunachal Pradesh, Capital Expenditure and Operating Expenditure net of Revenue incurred by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) shall be funded by the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), for a period of five years from the date commencement of these rules”, has been substituted.
