Ministry of Commerce and Industry enlisted a designated port in the handbook of procedure

The Department of Commerce on July 20, 2021 has issued a public notice to enlist a designated port (Kamarajar Port) in the paragraph 2.54 (d)(iv) of Handbook of Procedure, 2015-2020.

The revised Paragraph is as followed:

Import of scrap would take place only through following designated ports and no exceptions would be allowed even in case of EOUs, SEZs:- 

1. Chennai, 2. Cochin, 3. Ennore, 4. JNPT, 5. Kandla, 6. Mormugao, 7. Mumbai, 8. New Mangalore, 9. Paradip, 10. Tuticorin, 11.Vishakhapatnam, 12.Pipava, 13.Mundra, 14. Kolkata, 15.Krishnapatnam, 16. Kattupalli, 17. Hazira and 18. Kamarajar.

Kamarajar Port is enlisted as a designated port for import of unshredded metallic scrap and waste.
